But the Like yourself, I ignored it when the film came out and was 'hyped up' by AE. My local video store had massive advertising and then the DVD eventually got marked down cheap for Christmas and I still avoided getting it. I guess for me to sit down to watch this film, the compelling 'drawcard' will have to be the beefcake since none of the younger actors have made any positive impression on me before I don't think I've ever seen a Tatum or Pettyfer film, nor Bomer on TV and I personally can't abide Matthew McConnaughey.
Once having then actually viewed the film, I'd hopefully come to the same opinion as yours. Mar 16, PM. I turned off "The Bubble" five minutes before the end, when I realized what was going to happen. It upset me so much I couldn't sleep.
I know a bit about Israel, but that film wrecked me. Let me know how you feel about Magic Mike - I really didn't want to watch it Mar 17, AM. Re: Magic Mike, I had no interest in it, but was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I finally understood the appeal of Channing Tatum, and for me it's his personality.
He is so charming and sweet in that movie. Mar 25, PM. Well the MQFF is now over too short! Hawaii Director Marco Berger gave us the wonderful Plan B a couple of years back, and after two less than wonderful intervening movies - he's back in full M-M romance form with a Kickstarter produced Hawaii. Don't ask about the film title - suffice to say it will become clear at the movie's end.
Going back to his best Plan B trademarks, Berger gives us long visually appealing quiet shots, hot not plucked and buffed actors, intense longing homo-erotic looks, sexual tension filled bedroom scenes where viewers are cheering our protags to get together. Not a whole lot happens or even spoken, readers have to pick up unspoken messages and cues from the 'movement' and props used by the actors in the scenes.
The start of the film seems to drag a little but does set up the premise for these two characters to meet up. There's even some full frontal shots by one of the actors. A nice sweet ending that will please all romance buffs. Definitely a film I'd see again. Any Day Now Period piece 'what makes a family' drama which will appeal to all who like social justice issues involving disadvantaged children.
The child actor with Down's Syndrome was amazing - and viewers will be won over by the dynamic created between this child and the protective caring gay protags Cumming and Dillahunt. The ending is realistic and soooo sad and probably won't appeal to those who want HEAs. A well acted, produced and moving film. Free Fall Touted as a German 'Brokeback Mountain', this proved an engaging and well paced 'coming out' movie we are still getting so many of these.
